One person died and four others got injured Monday after a vehicle accident in rural Mexicali.

According to police reports the incident took place at 12:30 p.m. on the San Luis Río Colorado Highway by Ejido Nuevo León rural town.

Diana Teresa Perez, 25, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, died at the scene.

The injured individuals included a one-month-old baby, as well as an 18-year-old female, another man whose age went unreported and a 26-year-old man.

One of those injured was reportedly transported to Calexico. The injured individuals were transported to Mexicali hospitals.
