The state Attorney General’s office started an investigation of the 4-year-old boy who was found dead earlier this week.

Ivan Francisco was found dead Tuesday in a Lagos del Sol area residence where six children were taken under custody.

The authorities detained for questioning the minor’s stepfather Omar Adolfo and his mother, Nancy.

The dead boy had signs of malnutrition and several injuries.

Baja California Attorney General Ivan Carpio said the agency is also investigating the complaint filed by the child’s father two years ago.

The state Coroner’s office said the minor died of head and abdomen trauma, but had at least 33 injuries. Also the boy was over 12 pounds under the average weight.

The minor had eleven ribs fractured and other injuries in the hip and wrists.

The agency added that the boy had signs of sexual abuse as well.

The authorities determined the six children who were taken under custody had psychological issues and showed some degree of malnutrition. The six children are between 10 months and 10 years of age.
