A man who has been linked to several drug crimes and homicides was arrested in rural Mexicali, according to media reports.

Televisa Mexicali reported that police officers arrested Jesús Alberto, 36, who has been considered a most wanted alleged criminal.

The suspect has been related to several crimes reported in the Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria area.

The authorities arrested the suspect after the individual was allegedly driving in excess of speed in the town.

However, upon observing the police officers the suspect presumably decided to drive his vehicle in reverse and crashed the police car. Other police officers chased the suspect until the individual was stopped.
