A man who was nabbed with two women, a man and a minor from Colombia was arrested for immigrant smuggling.

The suspect was identified as Javier Andrés, 40.

Mexicali police said the suspect was arrested in Alamo Temblon Avenue and Bernardo Reyes Street in the Colonia Castro area.

According to the authorities, police officers observed the suspect and the group of Colombian immigrants in a parcel.

The suspect was carrying a stair.

Two of the immigrants told police agents the suspect was going to charge them $300 to help them cross to the US.

The immigrants also said they were approached by the suspect in a downtown hotel.

The suspect was transported to the police headquarters while the immigrants were taken to the Mexican Attorney General’s office as witnesses.
