Two American citizens were apprehended Tuesday after being stopped in a vehicle reported stolen, the state Attorney General’s office said.

The authorities identified the suspects as Daniel, of Puerto Rico, and Roberto, also a US citizen. No ages were reported.

The suspects were arrested on a green 1999 Jeep Cherokee in the Misión de Santo Domingo area.

After stopping the vehicle, police officers were notified by dispatchers the vehicle was reported stolen.

According to the authorities Roberto had an outstanding arrest warrant in California for possession of stolen property and theft of less than $950.

The arrest was reported to the International Liaison Office. Daniel was detained while a date is set for a judicial hearing.
