Baja California Governor Jaime Bonilla said once all 40,000 Janssen vaccines that are expected to arrive in the state are administered the U.S. could be able to reopen the borders.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is one those approved by U.S. authorities for the border reopening, he said.

“Everything indicates that (the border reopening) will take place next month,” Gov. Bonilla added.

Resident had been warned to keep their vaccination certificates that will become a requirement for entering the U.S. The incoming vaccines will go to Mexicali, Ensenada, and Tijuana, as well as the deep south of the state.
