Brawley native pitcher Jake Sanchez was overwhelmingly voted as Relief Pitcher of the Year in the Mexican Pacific League.
Sanchez, who was recently hired in Dominican Republic, received 91 percent of votes and the Isidro Marquez Award.
This season, the Imperial Valley native pitched in 32 innings with 48 strikeouts.
More importantly, Sanchez saved 26 games– a league wide record for a single season.
The pitcher is also fifth in the league’s history with most saved games with 72.
