A state official recently met with business organization representatives in order to discuss potential changes to bus routes.
Baja California authorities said the pandemic modified employee transportation needs that require officials to design the new routes.
Sustainable Mobility Institute Director Jorge Alberto Gutiérrez said business organization representatives provide significant insight in order to modify bus routes.
For years, business organizations have complained about delays that affect productivity. The issue led transit companies to open private routes especially for manufacturing plants.
In the bus route planning agencies like the Municipal Planning Institute of the City of Mexicali, as well as Mexicali Economic Development Council, the Restaurant Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce have been involved. Director Gutierrez said the Institute expects to also involve the Industry Chamber in the planning stage.
