A state lawmaker introduced a bill that, if enacted, would include candidate photographs in ballots.
Assemblyman Cesar Gonzalez, of the Green Party, said voters only have the choice to vote for candidates based on their names or those of the nominating parties.
The lawmaker said senior residents or those visually impaired can make mistakes while voting for their disability to read.
Gonzalez said states like Puebla, San Luis Potosi and Queretaro include candidate images in ballots. The lawmaker said including candidate pictures can avoid confusion when nominees have the same name.
