State authorities called poultry men to protect their birds after cases of bird flu were detected in the US by stopping chicken importation.
State Secretary of Agriculture and Food Security Juan Meléndrez said the Mexican government has warned states of the issue.
The agency plans to launch inspections to enforce the warning while tracking shipments.
The secretary explained import agents have been warned about the issue in order to allow shipments dated March 6 and before.
According to the secretary no chicken flu cases have been detected in Baja California.
