Once again Mexicali was among the top cities that recorded high price increases during April, according to a Mexican agency.

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography released its report of inflation rates all over Mexico that highlighted Mexicali in this arena nationwide.

In the first half of April the city reported a yearly inflation rate of 8.45 percent — the highest in over two decades.

The city recorded a 0.66 percent monthly price increase for the first half of April — the sixth largest in the country.

Mexico’s yearly inflation rate was 7.72 percent.

Food reported the highest price increase with 13.79 percent in Mexicali. Also, the inflation rate in food was the highest in 23 years.
