The Coalition of Social Participation in Education and the Entrepreneurial Community of Mexicali had asked Governor elect Marina Avila to nominate an ideal, professional Secretary of Public Education for her cabinet

In a public letter, the Coalition also asked the governor elect to reactivate the boards of Education composed by teachers, parents, businessmen, journalists and college professionals.

“Today is in our hands the opportunity to change the future of Baja California, by having the bravery of a timon coup and making ours the challenge to give our children a world class education,” the coalition said. “Education is the solution to issues that threat the state like crime, insecurity and lack of economic development.”

The coalition has also requested to install the School Net at all educational levels, enact the state Commission of Evaluation and the development of the 2030 Social Agreement for Education.

“We want and must become the state with the best education,” the coalition said in the letter. “It is precise to do things differently by opening the door to innovation, evaluation, transparency and social synergy to be better and change.”

Days ago, Gov.-elect Avila announced that former Secretary of Education Catalino Zavala will be her Secretary of Government.

“Education is the door to opportunities, but it will open for those who commit and prepare,” the coalition added. “The time has arrived to find creative solutions, adopting responsibility and retaking the right path for the benefit of all Baja Californians.”
