The temporary hospital of the Autonomous University of Baja California was reopened although the authorities said active Covid-19 cases had seen a reduction.
The state Department of Public Health said Monday in the last 24 hours 52 new cases had been confirmed, with 18 of those in Mexicali.
Also, two additional deaths were reported — one of those in the states capital city.
The state recorded over 3,000 active cases, with close to half of those in Mexicali.
State Chief Epidemiologist Efrén Zazueta said the 30-bed college hospital helps treat Covid-19 patients who are in their illness final stage.
Baja California was set in the orange tier — the only state under that color in Mexico. Zazueta said residents need to reduce contagion in order to move back to the yellow tier.
