The corpse of a man was found inside an irrigation canal in rural Mexicali, according to media reports.
The body was notified to the authorities at 8:17 a.m. Saturday in the Ejido Lázaro Cárdenas Sur rural town.
Police officers and firefighters were deployed to the scene to extract the body.
Upon arrival, the authorities found the corpse dressed on black pants and a black and red shirt.
The authorities said the victim had a gunshot wound and injuries in the face. The body was turned to the state Coroner’s office.
