The woman whose body was found partially burned Friday in an irrigation canal died of suffocation, according to the state Coroner’s office.
The corpse was located about 7 a.m. Friday in the Valle del Pedregal area.
The victim had injuries in the neck, according to the authorities. Also, the body had wire wrapped to the neck.
The Coroner’s office determined the cause of death as mechanical suffocation by strangulation. The incident is being investigated as femicide or gender based homicide of a woman.
