Between 30 and 40 members of the conservative National Action Party could get expelled soon, state party Chair Mario Osuna said.

The expulsion is based on grounds of support to another political party.

The party has processed those who ran for elected office under another political party.

Those processes included now former City Councilman Oscar Vega, who decided to resign from the party, but not his elected office.

Vega, a former gubernatorial candidate, decided to vote for ordinance proposals introduced by Mayor Norma Bustamante to increase property tax rates and charge for business licenses.
