A drug tunnel found 7 years ago has kept causing issues to residents of the Fraccionamiento Hípico area.
La Voz newspaper reported that residents have told state and city officials about these issues.
A December report issued by the Department of Urban Development confirmed problems found in the walls of several homes.
Residents also fear a major sinking due to the high traffic and other problems found on the street.
In June 2020 residents wrote to the Mayor Marina Avila in order to seek help from the City. Local officials with the Department of Public Works very much fight the sinking in the area.
The city made minor repairs on the street and these led residents to write again to Mexicali Mayor Lupita Mora looking to address the definition. On Thursday, Public Works Director Alberto Ibarra said the city is not competent given the tunnel is a federal issue.
