Three men and two women were shot to death over the weekend in two different incidents in rural Mexicali, according to media reports.

One of the incidents took place Saturday evening in the Ejido Durango rural town, where a man was found dead in the yard and another man and a woman were located inside the residence.

Mexicali Firefighters transported another woman to a hospital with a shot wound in the head. The woman succumbed to the injury.

Another woman, who was identified as Beatriz, 50, was found dead in a residence located in the same town.

A man who got injured in the same home told the police two men entered the residence and shot at the woman.

The male victim was shot in the abdomen and the legs. The police said the authorities have leads about the suspects in the drug-related murders.
