Weeks before the conclusion of the term of Governor Jaime Bonilla, who promised to put his predecessor in jail, the state Attorney General’s office is still waiting for a judge to schedule a hearing.

Assistant Attorney General Hiram Sánchez said the case has been turned to the courts.

So far, the agency has charged three former state officials with the Department of the Treasury.

Last week, Gov. Bonilla said his predecessor, Francisco Vega, was next to get into prison before the term concluded on Halloween.

However, the assistant attorney general only insisted the case was turned to a judge.
