A former state official who is now under investigation was appointed to a brand new position in Mexico City.
Former State Secretary of Government Amador Rodríguez was named Mexico City General Coordinator of Institutional Relations.
During the administration of Governor Jaime Bonilla the now Mexico City official unsuccessfully attempted to increase the governor’s term from two to five years.
Bonilla is expected to appear in court along with eight former state officials by mid-August, including Rodríguez, for signing a contract with a private company to develop the largest solar plant in Latin America. The controversial project never came to fruition, but cost the state over $6 million that were eventually reimbursed.
