Three men and a woman were indicted by a state judge for false imprisonment, the state Attorney General’s office said.

The authorities said the suspects were identified as Francisco, Jan David, Andrés Ernesto and Edith Darlen, no ages reported.

The incident for which the suspects were indicted was reported Jan. 11 in Lerdo Avenue and Morelos Street in downtown Mexicali.

The suspect woman and the victim were at the scene when the suspect threatened to kill the victim.

The suspects allegedly tied the victim by the hands and feet. Then, the suspects presumably punched the victim.

Later, the victim asked the suspects to release him, but the suspects refused to do so.

The victim was able to flee and asked for help. The judge decided to keep the suspects in prison during trial and gave prosecutors two months to close the investigation.
