Higher demand and lack of importation of fuel into Mexico has led drivers to wait for long times in order to purchase gasoline — if lucky.

American gas stations had stopped importing fuel from the US while Mexican public company Petróleos Mexicanos has failed to supply enough gasoline to stations.

Mexicali Gas Stations Association Chairman Rubén Marquez said it is unclear how many stations have been impacted.

Some American stations had reported that the Mexican company had been supplying national stations. In the meantime, some consumers have been forced to wait up to two hours in order to buy gasoline.
