Although the Mexican government decided to suspend the full time school program state authorities plan to keep the project active.

State Secretary of Education Gerardo Solís said Baja California must set new policies in order to operate the program.

The full time school program started out years ago in order to improve education services.

According to the state official about a hundred of the 503 full time schools in Baja California are ready to continue the extended schedule.

In the other cases authorities must solve personnel, payroll and student food services first. The decision to cancel the program was made by the Mexican Department of Education earlier this week.
