State lawmakers approved funds to build a new parental meeting center in Mexicali Zoo that will help divorced parents to meet with their children.

In a press release the state Assembly said the bill to create the supervised center was previously approved by the Commission of the Treasury and Budget.

Besides providing a site for parental meetings, the center will include spots for seminars for both children and parents.

Also, the center’s second stage will include activities to enrich the relationship between noncustodial parents and their children.

A supervisor will be in charge of verifying children are turned to the noncustodial parent and returned after the meeting.

No details were provided about the center’s cost.
