An 8-year-old girl was reportedly abducted Monday afternoon from outside a Civic Center bank, the police said.

According to a report from the State Guard of Security and Investigations, the incident was notified to the authorities at 12:55 p.m. in the Banamex branch located in the intersection of López Mateos Boulevard and De Los Héroes Street.

The reporting party told the police a man brandished a pistol to take the girl away in a green Honda vehicle.

Several police officers arrived at the scene to investigate the matter.

According to media reports, an individual told the authorities the suspect is the girl’s older brother. The reports say the minor allegedly abducted the minor while the mother was inside the bank.
