Baja California Governor Marina Avila announced the eventual request of a 2 billion peso loan in order to address end of year liabilities.

Among those liabilities are the Christmas bonus named aguinaldo for state employees, as well as monies owed to teachers, payroll and pending payments to suppliers.

Gov. Avila said her predecessor Jaime Bonilla left 100 million pesos or about $5 million in coffers. According to the governor the loan must first be approved by the Assembly.
