A Haitian woman delivered her baby just outside the General Hospital and was later transported to the Maternal Child Hospital.
The 22-year-old woman gave birth to her second child, a 2.9 kilograms boy who was sent to the Intensive Care Unit, where he will stay for up to four days under observation.
The mother and her baby were transported Tuesday morning by paramedics of the Red Cross to the hospital.
The mother was first taken from the CREA complex to the General Hospital.
The Department of Public Health reported that the mother’s health is in good condition. The mother will be housed in a local shelter until the baby boy leaves the UCI.
