A state official said Monday that after active cases of the Coronavirus had steadily declined the authorities plan to make changes to healthcare services.

Secretary of Public Health Adrian Medina said service backlog in hospitals and clinics will be addressed first.

Most of these services were delayed for two years due to the pandemic, the state official said.

Programs, staff, supply of medicine, rehabilitation of areas and health promotion will go first according to the plans, Medina said. Assistant Director of Health Nestor Saul Hernandez said the authorities also plan to evaluate all facilities while including new preventive programs.
