Dozens of healthcare workers held Wednesday a demonstration to demand the payment of their Christmas bonus.

Led by Secretary General of the Local 42 of the National Healthcare Workers Union Virginia Noriega the workers held the protest outside the Department of the Treasury.

Employees demand the bonus payment, as well as other benefits that had not been paid.

“We have been working tirelessly without items and under the worst labor conditions,” Secretary General Noriega said. “The fact of moving from one administration to another does not free the authorities from complying with bargaining agreements.”

The union and government representatives held a meeting to discuss the issue.

The state said the bonus will get paid Friday.
