State authorities and a high school system union reached an agreement in order to stop the strike that began Monday.

On Wednesday, the state said Cecyte High School System Director Alonso Centeno met with workers union representatives to discuss how the year-end bonus and other benefits will get paid.

According to the director December salaries and at least half the bonus will get paid, as well as vacations and due retirement benefits.

The strike came to an end Wednesday, the state said. The system has over 25,000 students and 2,284 workers statewide.
