Two women and a man from El Salvador were rescued by Mexicali Police Monday afternoon in a rural town, authorities said.

Mexicali Police said officers were deployed to an area known as Banco Cuervitos in the Los Algodones rural town.

Upon arrival, the police found two women, ages 56 and 35, as well as a 59-year-old man who were apparently lost.

The immigrants previously asked for help from the US Border Patrol.

American agents notified Mexicali Police about the issue. One of the immigrants had heart issues and osteoporosis.
