An Indio woman was sentenced by a state judge in Mexicali for the March 2021 murder of her uncle.

The state Attorney General’s office said the judge sentenced Nadia Hendriczon Flores, 28, to 25 years in prison.

The defense attorney and prosecutors reached an agreement that led to the sentencing.

The incident occurred in March 21, 2021, in a Fraccionamiento Condesa area.

The police found the victim, who was visually impaired, inside his bedroom with several injuries.

According to the authorities, the homicide was caused by a family issue.

The woman injured the victim with a knife in the right hand.

Then, the woman took an object and hit the victim’s head. The victim died of head trauma.
