A state lawmaker introduced a resolution in order to seek the City of Mexicali transfer all reports and documents to the recently created City of San Felipe to have thorough knowledge of the state of the new municipality.
Assemblyman Juan Manuel Molina’s resolution proposal was approved by his colleagues.
The legislator said state law seeks to make sure outgoing elected officials turn over their administration through reports and documentation incoming officials need at the beginning of their terms.
Molina recalled that in July the state enacted a decree that creates the municipality of San Felipe whose elected officials were sworn-in in January.
The decree included provisions to make sure all negotiations were held among the new municipality and the cities of Mexicali and Ensenada. According to the lawmaker, although the San Felipe administration began excellently as of this week the City of Mexicali has failed to turn in a deep report about the state of the new city.
