A teenager who was arrested Sunday morning in a western Mexicali gas station after allegedly attempting to commit sexual abuse was eventually released from custody for false accusations.

The incident was reported at 5:31 a.m. in the GasPit gas station located at Santa Isabel Highway and Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard.

The suspect was identified as Jonathan Alfredo, 19, who works at the gas station.

A 25-year-old woman told the police that after an argument with her boyfriend she arrived at the scene.

The employee asked the woman to enter the restroom to call over the phone.

Suddenly, the suspect entered the restroom and started kissing and touching the victim’s parts, according to the reporting party.

However, the teenager was later released from custody after the authorities found the accuser provided false testimony.

First, the alleged victim provided contradicting facts and did not appear to confirm the allegations.

Videos recorded in the gas station also showed a different story.

The employee’s family members attempted to file a complaint for defamation, but the request was denied. Jazmín Díaz, mother of the teenager, said her son has been threatened for assault on social media.
