A man was arrested by Mexicali police officers after being accused for keeping his girlfriend against her will in a rural town.

According to media reports the arrest took place at 1 a.m. Sunday in Colonia Sismo 80 in Guadalupe Victoria rural town.

The suspect was identified as Jared, 37.

The victim’s mother told the police she heard her daughter crying while talking over the phone.

Then, the reporting party heard the victim’s boyfriend asking her under threat to hang up the phone.

The reporting party arrived in the 17 Street home, where she found her daughter was kept against her will.

The police arrested the suspect at the scene. The victim was not injured, the police said.
