A man was nabbed while driving an unregistered vehicle in which the authorities found a significant amount of cash.

The state department of Public Safety said Wednesday Luis Daniel, 33, of Mexicali, was arrested close to Anáhuac Boulevard and Hector Terán Avenue.

The suspect was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that had no plates. The driver had no driver’s license either.

The police said the suspect was unable to produce vehicle registration documents.

Inside the vehicle, the police found hundreds of Mexican currency bill.

The agency said 285,000 pesos or over $14,000 was seized.

The driver was unable to report how he got the cash, the police said.

The authorities seized the vehicle and turn the suspect and the cash to the Mexican Attorney General’s office.
