The body of a dead man was found early Sunday in a rural Mexicali area, according to media reports.

The corpse was located at 3:15 p.m. in an Ejido Nuevo Leon rural town street.

The body was found with several gunshot wounds.

Miguel Hidalgo Avenue residents notified the police about a body located behind a school.

Residents notified the police several shots were heard moments earlier.

Mexicali Fire Department paramedics unsuccessfully tried to keep the man alive.

The police found next to the corpse an identification card under the name of Juan Fermín Robles Virrueta, 38. The police was unable to identify or obtain additional details about the suspects.
