A man who has been accused for the Feb. 8 assault on a police officer has been indicted by a state judge, the Attorney General’s office said.
The suspect, who was identified by the authorities as Jose Alexis, whose age was not reported, was arrested after being detained while staring at a Colonia Agualeguas area home.
Upon approaching the suspect, Jose Alexis attempted to flee on foot.
The individual was caught blocks away.
However, the suspect brandished a knife and unsuccessfully attempted to cause an injury to a police officer. The judge decided to keep the suspect in prison during trial and gave prosecutors two months to close the investigation.
