A man was reportedly killed at 11 p.m. Sunday evening in the Ejido Villa Zapata dunes area.

Police reports say a person called the authorities to notify about an individual who was shot at the scene.

Upon arrival, the police requested help from firefighters to transport the injured man.

However, the victim, who was identified as David Zavoria Maldonado, 38, succumbed to the injuries.

The victim had two shotgun wounds in the stomach.

Although several people who were in the surroundings of the scene nobody was able to witness the incident.

At the scene the authorities found seven .45 caliber bullet casings and an ammunition cartridge.
