A man who allegedly assaulted a cop was arrested Saturday evening.

Mexicali police said the suspect was identified as Jose Adrian, 24.

The incident occurred at 6:55 p.m. at the intersection of Alamo Street and Independencia Avenue in Colonia Alamo neighborhood.

According to the authorities, police agents observed several individuals who had submitted a man.

The individuals told the police the submitted man was observed while stealing a residence.

Suddenly, the suspect arrived at the scene and punched the police officer.

The agent then asked for support and more officers arrived. The police arrested the suspect at the scene.
