A man was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday in Southern Mexicali, according to media reports.

The incident took place at 4 a.m. I’m Castillejo Street in Fraccionamiento Quintas del Rey.

The report says neighbors reported the incident to the police as the victim was left tied with handcuffs in a chair.

The victim told the police that while sleeping he heard noises from outside the bedroom.

After leaving the room the victim observed three armed men dressed in black who forced him down to the floor and demanded the keys of a gray 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

The suspects also took 11,800 pesos or about $590 and fled from the scene on the Toyota and a Jeep Cherokee.
