A man who was found guilty of killing another individual in rural Mexicali was sentenced to six years in prison, the state Attorney General’s office said.
According to the authorities a judge signed an agreement to sentence José Alberto Cordero Rivero to half a dozen years in prison.
In the plea agreement, Cordero admitted having killed Carlos Alfredo Espinoza Montenegro on July 5, 2020.
The incident was reported in a residence located in Tabasco Street in Benito Juárez rural town.
According to the agency, both the convicted man and the victim had an argument.
Suddenly, Cordero brandished a knife and injured the victim.
The judge also ruled that Cordero must pay 439,612 pesos or $21,980 for damage repair.
