A man was sentenced to 60 years in prison by a state judge for kidnapping, the state Attorney General’s office said.
The authorities said Jose Alberto Evangelista Gonzalez, aka Eva, was also ordered to pay a sum for fines and damage repair to the victim.
According to the agency the suspect and other accomplices kidnapped a man and his 10yearold son in June 29, 2017, in the Colonia Hechicera rural town.
The suspect was located and arrested on Jan. 2018.
According to the agency the suspect was also allegedly involved in another kidnapping reported in June 8, 2017.
In the second case the suspect and another man pretended to purchase a motor home to a victim in the same rural area. The individuals brandished a firearm and took the victim to a home. Then the kidnappers started negotiations with the victim’s relatives to release the victim.
