The maquiladora industry has adjusted its production due to issues in the global supply chain, a business leader said.
Exportation Industry Association President Joaquin Jimenez said so far manufacturing companies had not suspended operations, but big items had been delayed for 24 weeks.
Most of those that receive items do so through the Long Beach Port and others through Ensenada.
Due to the delays plants had been forced to reschedule production. At the same time transportation has significantly increased, which has prompted a climb in manufacturing costs, Jimenez said.
