Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante held Tuesday a meeting with firefighters, who were acknowledged for their effort to keep residents safe and address complicated situations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mayor told firefighters that city officials are addressing the financial issues in order to provide bonuses, uniforms and equipment.

“Our fight is to negotiate in order to solve this as soon as possible,” the mayor said. Bustamante said the city’s Executive Office has asked uniform providers to deliver uniforms in the next few days.
