According to media reports more schools have been reported without air conditioning units.

La Crónica newspaper reported that the most recent case occurred in the Amalia de Castillo Elementary School, where the campus has been damaged due to theft of electrical wire.

The school’s principal told the newspaper that the wire issue was fixed, but the air conditioners were left without service.

Students, parents and teachers had complained as temperatures have risen in the last weeks.

The state Department of Education has already been told about the issue that has impacted classes, according to the newspaper.

Some students have reported nausea and dizziness. In a prepared statement, the Department of Education said over a hundred air conditioning units have been purchased and about 450 more are expected to get purchased.
