A banner with a message accusing the State Secretary of Public Safety of causing high criminal incidents in rural Mexicali was found early Wednesday close to the Attorney General’s office headquarters.
The sign was located at 7:24 a.m. in the Eje Central Avenue, just by the side of Mexicali Zoo.
Mexicali Police officers and Attorney General’s office agents arrived at the scene and got rid of the banner.
The sign accused Sec. Gilberto Landeros of being responsible for the violence in the municipality of Mexicali.
The banner was signed by an organization named La Taquiza. The state official said the banner responded to the operations held in rural Mexicali to address crime concerns.
