A state official recently announced the creation of a new genetic identification center that would serve to identify bodies of disappeared individuals found.
Undersecretary of Institutional Liaison of the Department of Government Rebecca Vega said the project was conceived by the State Commission of Search.
The center would include a database to help expedite the identification of corpses.
According to Vega the close to $1 million center is in the first stage and the authorities must now issue a RFP. The center is expected to open next year.
