Mexicali’s General Hospital reported Wednesday no patients with Covid-19, a state official said.
Hospital Director Miguel Bernardo Romero acknowledged staff for their professionalism, dedication and effort.
“Given the challenges faced by the hospital in the last two years, from logistics, transportation and rehabilitation, as well as treatment, doctors, nurses, administrative staff, biomedical engineers, chemistry experts, social workers and maintenance employees must be recognized,” Director Romero said. “We all have lost something in these two years, but we have also gained much as a unit.”
The hospital had 124 patients in the 126 prepared beds during the pandemic’s peak. At the same time, the hospital had 64 patients connected to a ventilator. The director said 46 percent of hospitalized patients were admitted with other health issues.
