Members of the National Action Party called lawmakers to vote against the proposals of the National Regeneration Movement Party to increase taxes.

Party State Chairman Mario Osuna said the proposals to increase property value goes against campaign promises and the governing Party principles.

Assemblywoman Alejandrina Corral said property taxes in Mexicali could see an increase of up to 57 percent.

The city has also proposed to charge up to about $850 for business licenses while charging a Street lighting fee.

Corral said her Party will not vote for such bills that affect people’s economy.
